While ripping to lossless is desirable, ripping to high-quality VBR mp3 might provide a long term solution also since mp3 is a de-facto standard as much as MPEG2 is for DVD's.

Is there a ripper that saves lyrics and album art in a useful form? e.g. ID3V2 tags can contain lyrics and album art.
