Your edit to the [[Replay Gain]] article indicates you believe that an 89 dB reference level is noncompliant, but 2Bdecided (the inventor of Replay Gain) said in [http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=52991&view=findpost&p=475019 a forum post] that the proposed Replay Gain spec expected players to add 6 dB to the 83 dB reference level used by the scanners, but what has happened instead is that the scanners all just use 89 dB and the players don't add anything. So I don't think it's necessary to single out MediaMonkey as being "noncompliant" in this regard; it's simply going along with the de facto standard that all the other implementations adhere to. ReplayGain compliance

Your edit to the Replay Gain article indicates you believe that an 89 dB reference level is noncompliant, but 2Bdecided (the inventor of Replay Gain) said in a forum post that the proposed Replay Gain spec expected players to add 6 dB to the 83 dB reference level used by the scanners, but what has happened instead is that the scanners all just use 89 dB and the players don't add anything. So I don't think it's necessary to single out MediaMonkey as being "noncompliant" in this regard; it's simply going along with the de facto standard that all the other implementations adhere to.
