Topdownjimmy, the point of these standards is to come up with the ''best'' solution to the problem, not the easiest. If an old "standard" can be shown to be less optimal than something new, the new one should be chosen. Look at the way Peter revises the foobar2000 SDK for a good example of this.

Topdownjimmy, the point of these standards is to come up with the best solution to the problem, not the easiest. If an old "standard" can be shown to be less optimal than something new, the new one should be chosen. Look at the way Peter revises the foobar2000 SDK for a good example of this.
