The ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) was developed by the ISO to identify sound and audiovisual recordings. Its standard number is ISO 3901.

The ISRC contains 12 characters that mean:

Lenght Meaning
2 Country
3 First owner (allocated by Phonographic Performance Ltd)
2 Recording year (last two digits)
5 Designation code (assigned by first owner)
